When the Soviet Union invaded Europe, the European armies were surprised and hard pressed to contain the invasion. Cities and towns were being lost and the focus was to first stop the soviets, consolidate the defensive position and from that point on, proceed to reconquering lost territories. There was no doubt in the minds of European High Command that there territories would be reconquered for Europe could not afford to lose more land. Its lost its colonies, it wouldn’t lose its homeland. With the Introduction of the Siege Tank, the Europeans finally had a weapon that could turn the Red tide of steel back. The European infantry stopped the invasion, they were the body. The Siege tank held the soviet armored divisions at bay – It was the shield. When mainland Europe was relatively safe, the armies of the Alliance began to reconquer the lost territories from the soviets and the V2 launcher was their sword.
Developed around the heavy chassis of the Siege tank, the V2 launcher is a mobile rocket artillery tank with extreme range and a variety of rockets and warheads. It is the prime siege weapon of the European alliance, able to blast cities and armies with impunity. Heavily armored with the same steel plate that is used by the Siege tank. The large ammunition compartment was converted to a missile depot containing warheads that are lighter for greater range or heavier for extreme damage. The V2 Launcher has exacted a heavy toll on soviet infantry and armored regiments. The distinct sound of the rocket approaching still haunts many a soviet soldier.
